About this Opportunity
Our volunteers recover healthy meals from commercial donor cafeterias and deliver them to specified nearby non-profit organizations. Every meal saved stays out of the landfill, helping the environment, while also nourishing our community in need.
The volunteer role would involve:
- Picking up meals from our donor cafeteria, Chilton Hospital, and
- Delivering these meals to our non-profit community partner, the Paterson AfterSchool Program, in Paterson, NJ.
The current need is for volunteers available on Monday and Thursday afternoons at 1:00 p.m.
We are looking for volunteers in Morris and Passaic County, able to rescue food from Atlantic Health Care, Pompton Plains and deliver it to Paterson, New Jersey.
Each volunteer task will take approximately one hour including travel time between donor and recipient.
We require volunteers to drive their own car. We welcome regular participation but will work with your schedule. Insulated bags will be provided to carry food donations.
