About Maya’s Hope:

Maya’s Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children living in extreme poverty and with complex medical needs in Ukraine and the Philippines. We provide life-saving surgeries, medical supplies, and essential support directly to families and children in crisis.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as Gala Chair for our annual Maya’s Hope Lotus Ball on November 19, 2025. The Gala Chair will work alongside the Maya’s Hope team and our Host Committee to lead, coordinate, and support the successful execution of our signature fundraising event.

This is a high-impact volunteer leadership role perfect for someone with strong organizational skills, event planning experience, and a heart for philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an ambassador for the Maya’s Hope Lotus Ball
  • Collaborate with Maya’s Hope staff to shape event vision and goals
  • Help recruit and manage the Host Committee
  • Assist in securing sponsorships, auction items, and in-kind donations
  • Promote the event through personal and professional networks
  • Coordinate with vendors, venues, and volunteers as needed
  • Support pre-event planning and day-of logistics
  • Optional: Host a pre-gala private event or fundraiser

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit leadership preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong network and ability to engage potential supporters and sponsors
  • Passionate about helping children in need
  • Comfortable with public speaking or being a visible figure at the event

Time Commitment:

  • Flexible hours from June through November
  • Heavier involvement expected closer to the gala date
  • Attendance at the gala on November 19 is strongly encouraged
