About Maya’s Hope:
Maya’s Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children living in extreme poverty or with special needs in Ukraine and the Philippines. We provide access to life-saving medical care, education, and basic needs—because every child deserves hope.
Position Summary:
We’re planning a fun and meaningful Karaoke Fundraiser in Manhattan this June, and we’re looking for a passionate and organized Volunteer Event Planner to help bring it to life! If you love creating memorable events, coordinating logistics, and making a difference while singing your heart out (or encouraging others to), this is your chance!
Responsibilities:
- Help identify and coordinate venue logistics (date, time, AV needs, capacity, etc.)
- Assist in securing sponsorships or in-kind donations (e.g., raffle prizes, drinks, snacks)
- Collaborate on creative event themes, signage, and karaoke song lists
- Coordinate with vendors and volunteers leading up to and during the event
- Support promotion via social media, email, and word of mouth
- Attend the event and help manage logistics on the day-of (optional but preferred)
Qualifications:
- Passion for events, community engagement, or nonprofit work
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable with multitasking and working independently
- NYC-based or familiar with local venues
- Bonus: prior experience planning fundraisers or social events
Time Commitment:
- May to mid-June (estimated 3–5 hours/week leading up to the event)
- Availability on the day of the event in Manhattan
