About this Opportunity
Interviewer - Virtual Volunteer Opportunity
Do you have what it takes to be a good interviewer? As an online volunteer, you will be responsible for interviewing financial assistance applicants for Maya's Hope.
Though this task may seem easy at first glance, conducting a thorough interview is a bit more complicated than asking candidates a few questions. Be ready to do all of the necessary due diligence!
The volunteer interviewer will work in a team to review the application, conduct the interview, clarify data, investigate, and assess the potential case.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the requirements and process of candidates selection;
- Plan and prepare for the interview;
- Research the applicant (review the application, applicant's FB page, video message, photos, etc.);
- Take and keep notes on the interviews;
- Assist in making an informed decision.
A perfect candidate needs to:
- have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- have good organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks;
- be objective;
- be ready to deal with a diverse range of people;
- be persistent, but lead a conversation, not an interrogation;
- be self-aware of judgments you place upon candidates;
- possess the ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.
If you want to help Maya's Hope in selecting and prioritizing the cases but have doubts about your interview skills, fear not - those skills can be quickly learned and trained!
Please send your resume or LinkedIn and share why you'd like to volunteer for this opportunity!
