About this Opportunity
Be the eyes, ears and muscle of Fort Frederick State Park. As a Volunteer Ranger you can perform the duties essential to maintaining Maryland's natural and cultural resources. (Volunteer Rangers must be 18 years of age and have a valid state driver's license). Assist park guests to make their visit to the park memorable. Perform daily operations including staffing the visitor center and park store. Maintain park facilities, trails and grounds. Collect Park Fees. Lend a hand with park programs and special events. After accruing 40 hours of volunteer service within the park, the volunteer attends training for Volunteer Ranger certification and is provided with a uniform. After receiving certification, the volunteer commits to 100 hours of service per year.
