About this Opportunity

The Front Desk & Greeter volunteer is responsible for supporting the activities at the Durgin Center through greeting and assisting Durgin Center visitors and participants and assists with administrative tasks. Hours needed: Monday - Friday; 9am - 12pm or 12pm - 3pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets visitors warmly and ensures that they are comfortable during their visit at the Durgin Center.
  • Gives tours of the Durgin Center to new participants.
  • Answers phone in a professional manner, provides information on Durgin Center schedule, and connects callers with appropriate staff as necessary.
  • Checks in class participants and registers participants for classes as needed
  • Receives payments and donations for classes and follows appropriate procedures.
  • Completes administrative tasks as requested.
  • Assists with tidying and presentation of the public space at the Durgin Center.
  • Attend EAAA trainings as required.
  • GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • All participants information is confidential. Volunteer will sign A Pledge of Confidentiality
  • Volunteer will seek clarification for unexpected issues from the Durgin Center Program Coordinator.
  • Volunteers are required to report any injury, illness or concerns to their supervisor.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to record Lessons Learned and share feedback and ideas.
  • QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:

    Experience and Skill Requirements: The following requirements and skills are considered essential:

    • Comfortable speaking with individuals and in front of groups.
    • Ability to present a positive first impression of the agency to callers and visitors.
    • Professional attitude and appearance.
    • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.

    Preferred Education/Skill: The following preferred education are considered:

    • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
