About this Opportunity
The Wichita Recovery Hub is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by supporting individuals in recovery from trauma, including substance use disorder, homelessness, and mental health challenges. Founded in 2023, the Hub provides services designed to empower individuals to rebuild their lives, offering access to recovery programs, housing, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Located in Wichita, Kansas, the Hub works closely with local organizations to create a comprehensive support network for vulnerable populations. As an emerging member of the Recovery Café Network, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive space for individuals in recovery. For more information, visit www.wichitarecoveryhub.org. We are dedicated to offering holistic support to those in recovery, helping individuals access the resources they need to move forward. We are seeking a VISTA member to assist in expanding our community outreach efforts, including the following specific tasks: organizing community events to raise awareness of our services, recruiting and managing volunteers, developing partnerships with local organizations, and supporting the implementation of strategic outreach initiatives. The VISTA will help strengthen our volunteer program, foster long-term collaborations, and build a more robust community presence. This position will provide professional development opportunities in nonprofit management, event coordination, volunteer engagement, and partnership development, while making a direct impact on individuals working to overcome trauma. The position will be based at the Wichita Recovery Hub in Wichita, Kansas, with flexible hours to accommodate event schedules and outreach activities.
