About this Opportunity
In 1964, Congress enacted the Economic Opportunity Act as part of America¿s steadfast commitment to combat poverty. This legislation initiated a funding source for communities to tackle poverty at the local level. Presently, each state receives Community Services Block Program (CSBG) funds in accordance with a statutory formula. Subsequently, states allocate these funds to a network of local entities aimed at assisting low-income individuals and families with activities and support services that empower them to surpass the ramifications of poverty and to foster their progress towards enhanced self-sufficiency. In Wyoming, the Department of Health oversees the administration of CSBG funds awarded to CSBG Eligible Entities. In numerous states, these entities are recognized as Community Action Agencies. Community Services Network of Wyoming (CSNOW) stands as the principal statewide association for beneficiaries of Wyoming's Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) program. Our mission is to engage in advocacy.
