About this Opportunity
Opportunity Overview:
Do you love the outdoors and meeting new people? Are you looking for a way to get involved in your community? Weir River Farm in Hingham is currently looking for volunteers to join our Open Barnyard Volunteers.
Volunteers will meet and greet visitors and help them interact with our animals (no prior experience necessary, event staff will provide simple instructions and guidance). This is a terrific way to learn about our animals, meet new people and have fun!

Reports to: Property Staff
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited the following):
- Assist families in interacting with the animals and overall experience of the farm
- Talk with visitors, and if you are able, answer questions about The Trustees mission and Trustees’ properties
- If you are familiar with the goals of The Trustees, educate the public about them and encourage membership
- Sign up for this opportunity
Qualifications:
- Have reliable transportation to the farm
- Desire to meet with the public
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Dress in appropriate clothes and footwear for varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces including grass or uneven surfaces
- Minimum Age: 15 years old; volunteers 12-14 years old will require parental/guardian supervision
- Please note: a background check is required for this role
