Organization Description: Build, RVA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit makerspace community in Richmond, VA, dedicated to providing affordable access to tools, resources, and knowledge. We support entrepreneurs, creators, makers, and inventors by connecting them with a community of science-based innovators and artists in an environment where ideas become reality.
Volunteer Position Description & Purpose: We're seeking a friendly and organized volunteer to assist with finding and logging grant opportunities, planning Grant committee meetings, Delegating work and grant writing tasks, engaging in local fundraising opportunities. Your role is essential to enhancing our member and community experience, streamlining operations, and ensuring clear communication within our vibrant community.
Director Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identifying grant opportunities
- Leading grant writing efforts
- Organizing and drafting data for grant writing
- Collaborating with other departments for fundraising activities
- Tracking grant applications and funding assignments
- Lead fundraising and grant committee meetings
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent management and planning skills
- Background or interest in human resources and community engagement recommended
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse personality types.
- Comfortable using digital tools and platforms (Slack, Nexudus, email, Google aps, etc.).
Time Commitment:
- Commitment: 8-10 hrs/week. No upper limit on commitment.

- Hours submitted and verified via internal Google form.
- Onsite orientation and training provided by the Board of Directors.
