About this Opportunity

We are looking for several Tour Assistants throughout the day of the South End Garden Tour on June 20th, 2026

Volunteers are needed to help support the South End Garden Tour. The South End Garden Tour is a self guided tour throughout the South End where there will be historical information, beautiful gardens, and activities like music and art. It is our teams largest fundraiser and helps us support free programming, food access, and language accessibility city-wide.

Tour Assistants (one to two at each garden/location) are the most important role for the event!

They will stand along the route to monitor gardens, direct attendees to amenities, check attendee booklets, report back issues along the route, and, most importantly, get to enjoy secluded city gardens.

Three shifts are available

10AM - 12 Noon

12 Noon - 2PM

2PM - 4PM

Those with knowledge of locations in this year's region are encouraged to sign up, but prior knowledge is not a requirement to volunteer.

If you would like to request a specific location on the tour, please email [email protected] along with expressing interest here

This position will be posted outdoors, so please come prepared for the weather (ie jackets if it is rainy or sun hats if it is hot).

The position may require some standing, walking, and lifting.

Orange Line and Commuter Rail service is available from Back Bay, a 10-minute walk from the tour start at 500 Tremont Street, Berkeley Community Garden in Boston

Paid street parking is available

Volunteers receive free acess to the event
