About this Opportunity
Volunteers are needed to help with the cleanup of the South End Garden Tour. The South End Garden Tour is a self-guided tour throughout the South End where there will be historical information, beautiful gardens, and activities like music and art. It is our team's largest fundraiser and helps us support free programming, food access, and language accessibility city-wide.
The tour is on June 20th and runs 10AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed at 4PM for cleanup.
The tour starts at 500 Tremont St, Berkeley Community Garden in Boston
A few examples of tasks that need help getting done before the event starts are-
- Loading pickup trucks arriving with supplies like tables, banners, signs, etc
- Breaking down the sign-in area tables
- Picking up flags and posters at each stop along the tour
- Removing and erasing arrows in chalk or pre-printed directions along the tour route
- Helping to ensure all garden gates are closed
An average level of physical fitness is needed, as there is likely to be moderate lifting and walking long distances
Please wear the appropriate clothes for walking around outdoors for an extended period - the event will happen rain or shine.
There is Orange Line and Commuter Rail access at Back Bay, a 10-minute walk from the tour start.
