About this Opportunity

The Youth Support Volunteer works alongside youth leaders and program staff to support students during afterschool programming. 

Volunteers help create a structured, encouraging environment where students can stay engaged in activities, build positive relationships with peers, and grow in confidence as they work toward their academic and personal goals. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support youth leaders and program staff during afterschool activities 

  • Help students stay focused and engaged during program sessions 

  • Encourage positive peer interaction and respectful behavior 

  • Help maintain a safe and welcoming classroom environment 

  • Follow the MLK Center code of conduct when interacting with youth 

  • Communicate schedule changes or questions with program staff 

  • Assist with program preparation when possible 

  • Wear volunteer name tag while serving
