About this Opportunity
The Seniors Program Support Volunteer works alongside the Seniors Program Coordinator to help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all senior participants.
Volunteers play a key role in building relationships with seniors and fostering a caring space where participants feel welcomed, connected, and valued. The program includes organizing for group games and activities and prizes, learning opportunities and presentations, and other opportunities for community connection and more.
Key Responsibilities

Build relationships with seniors and encourage connection among participants

Welcome and greet seniors as they arrive to the program

Assist participants with finding seating, especially those with mobility or accessibility needs

Interacting with the program attendees and making sure they’re having a fun and safe experience and staying upbeat

Help set up the program space, including arranging tables and chairs

Clean, disinfect and return tables and chairs to their original setting after programming

Assist with program breakdown and resetting the space after activities

Support staff in maintaining a safe environment and helping prevent injuries

Communicate schedule changes or questions with the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Coordinator

Check in with program staff to understand daily agendas and how to best support

Assist with meal preparation or serving food when needed, especially for participants with mobility challenges
