Facilities & Maintenance Volunteer

The Facilities & Maintenance Volunteer helps keep the MLK Center clean, organized, and well-maintained so that staff, students, and community members can safely enjoy the space.  Volunteers support a variety of projects that improve the overall environment of the Center, from organizing spaces to assisting with light maintenance and special projects. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Help maintain clean and organized program spaces throughout the Center 

• Assist with organizing storage areas, supply closets, and shared spaces 

• Support basic cleaning tasks such as: 

• Wiping surfaces 

• Sweeping and tidying high-traffic areas 

• Assist with light maintenance projects as needed 

• Help prepare spaces for programs, events, or special activities 

• Support room resets, including arranging tables, chairs, and materials 

• Assist with seasonal or special projects (e.g., painting, organizing, setup projects) 

• Communicate any maintenance needs or safety concerns to staff
