Southwest Valley Enarson Elementary - Reading Volunteer

The RSVP YouthReading volunteer will provide reading help and companionship to elementarystudents.

Program description

Reading is a criticalskill for life. To help students achieve their full potential with readingskills, the RSVP Youth Reading Program is asking for volunteers to aid in smallreading groups. Volunteers will be asked to follow teachers detailedinstructions with a small group of students and engage in reading activities.

Duties:

Interactwith elementary students and be a welcoming adult face.

Providehelp with reading as needed.

Protectthe privacy and confidentiality of students and their families.

Skills required:

Must be 55years of age or better.

Relatewell to staff, volunteers and children, and work with a team approach.

Willingnessto support students in their academic work.

Mustsuccessfully pass a background check.

Amount of Time: 12-hour weekly shifts we will work with your schedule.

Time of Day: As scheduled during school hours, Mondaythrough Friday.

Supervisor: Supervisionis provided by the Classroom Teacher.
