Witwer Children's Therapy Clinical Volunteer
Description:
Do you have an interest in working with children with neurological injuries and disabilities? Then this job is perfect for you. You will become part of a team of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists who work with children with the goal of getting them to their highest level of function possible. You will be responsible for greeting patients and their families, assisting with indirect patient care duties such as moving or stabilizing a wheelchair or PT table, changing linens, cleaning toys and equipment, adjusting assistive devices, assisting with treatment setup, clerical functions and other duties that help the facility run efficiently and effectively. There are two sites that you could be assigned to: Witwer SW Cedar Rapids and Witwer Hiawatha.
Qualifications:
Volunteers in this assignment must:
1. Be a friendly, customer service oriented individual who is a team player
2. Be able to walk short distances and push a wheelchair.
**Persons interested in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology are given preference in this assignment.**
