St Luke's is a 550 bed general hospital serving patients from a multi-county area. Medical and surgical services are available in addition to services available in the Centers of Excellence- BirthCare Center, Emergency Services, Rehabilitation, Heart Health, Women's and Children's Health, Mental Health. | The hospital was founded in 1884. St. Luke's was the first hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA.

St Luke's mission is to serve the health needs of people through the delivery of quality services in an efficient and cost effective manner. Our ultimate purpose is to give the healthcare we would want our loved ones to receive.

Volunteers support this mission by assisting departments with a variety of tasks which can be non-patient contact, direct people contact and direct patient contact. Volunteers are often on the front line of patient service in our hospital. They provide the extras that go beyond the excellent health care that we provide.
