About this Opportunity

The primary duties for this position involve meeting and greeting visitors at the New River Nature Center.  Welcome guests, help give interpretive programs, share historic and environmental  information.  Cleaning and maintaining facilities and restrooms, restocking toilet paper, and emptying the trash bins.

Work hours will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the nature center.  Work hours and days may vary for school programs, some holidays may be required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Host must have interpersonal abilities and excellent customer service skills. Host must be physically able to provide land and building maintenance.

VISITOR USE:

Present a positive image of the area and of the BLM, ensuring visitor contact is conducted in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.

Advises visitors concerning safety, amenities available, and proper and authorized uses of recreational facilities.

Observes, monitors, and evaluates onsite programs to determine if visitor needs are met; determines and recommends activities that community organizations could undertake to increase program effectiveness.
