(Local Volunteers) General Visitor Services

This opportunity is for those ages 16 and up, from the local area (Southeast Georgia or Northern Florida). Must have own transportation.  Volunteers needed to staff visitor center desk, interact with visitors from the around the world, assist with park bookstore, conduct formal programs, provide informal orientation to the site and its history, and help park staff with various projects. Most of the work is indoors but there maybe some periods of time when outdoor work is necessary. Operation of cash register and park film are part of the duties. The park is open seven days a week from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Generally shifts run from 9:00-1:00 or 1:00-5:00 but scheduling is flexible.
