About this Opportunity

As a Visitor Services Assistant, volunteers will staff the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center near the southwest entrance of the park. Duties include answering questions and phone calls, planning trips, providing park information, and being a welcoming, friendly face to the public. Volunteers may present simple interpretive programs and assist with ranger-led programs. Volunteers will rove viewpoints and park trails.

Volunteers are accepted year-round, but we are especially looking to fill spots during the winter months. During winter, when enough snow has accumulated, roving may take place via snowshoes or cross-country skis. Lassen Volcanic National Park is an amazing place during the winter, with hundreds of inches of snowfall each year! Come experience the park during a beautiful time of the year.
