About this Opportunity

Volunteers provide valuable services to the Ellis Island Immigration Museum in a variety of capacities. Museum projects include working with the museum collection, archives, library and oral history program. Volunteers also provide information to the public by working at the Library front desk. Ellis Island exhibits cover the history of the Ellis Island immigration station, the early yeas of US immigration and the New Era Immigration exhibit on contemporary US immigration and US citizenship.

Volunteer projects are available Monday - Friday all year, must be 16 years or older and can commit to working at least 8 hours a month.

Access to the island is by boat or car.
