About this Opportunity

Park Host Teams Damsite Recreation Area/Recreation Fee Collection:

In need of two (2) volunteer host teams to work Damsite Recreation Area. The two sets will have the option to stay within the volunteer village next to the park or at Doll Mountain Campground, approximately 15 to 20 minutes away, both locations provide full hook-up sites. Hosts will be responsible for running the gatehouse during scheduled hours on a rotational basis 7 days a week. This schedule may either be a 4-on-4-off or 7-on-7-off rotation and will be determined upon arrival, but hosts will be expected to work no more than 20 hours per week as a team. Hosts will handle cash register and credit card transactions, sell annual passes, and provide information to visitors. Hosts will be responsible for traffic control once park reaches capacity, but will have ranger support for sensitive or difficult situations. Hosts must also assist in making rounds of the park to determine number of parking spaces and noting issues.  Positions are required from April 15, 2020 through September 07, 2020. Hosts will be required to have their finger prints taken and complete the necessary paper and online federal background investigation forms per Army regulations. For more information please contact Ranger Allen Earhart or Ranger George McBroom at (706) 334-2248.
