A Free Bird is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New York City, dedicated to helping children diagnosed with cancer discover and pursue their artistic passions. Art has the power to heal—and we believe every child deserves the opportunity to express themselves through creativity. Whether it's painting, poetry, music, acting, dance, or film, we provide a space where young artists can thrive and tell their stories.

We’re looking for creative, motivated individuals to join our Multimedia Department, a collaborative team that powers the visual and digital storytelling behind our mission. You'll be helping us craft and share compelling content across all platforms—from social media and websites to campaign toolkits and external partnerships.

💼 What You’ll Do

Collaborate across departments to produce content for web, social, and marketing platforms

Create graphics and visuals for campaigns, partner toolkits, and influencer packages

Develop digital storytelling assets for major milestones and campaign launches

Design infographics, motion graphics (2D/3D), and branded content using Adobe Creative Suite

Edit video content (short and long form), trim clips, and support post-production

Create layouts, vector illustrations, CADs, and print-ready files

Support and possibly manage other creatives or freelancers

Take ownership of projects from concept to execution

Iterate based on feedback and performance metrics

✅ You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

Are a strong visual storyteller who knows how to engage an audience

Have 2–5+ years of experience in multimedia, content creation, or a related field

Are proficient in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator (and bonus if you know Blender or other tools!)

Have experience editing both static and motion content

Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams

Are comfortable using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Slack

Thrive in a self-starter environment and can own your workflow

Want to use your creative skills for a purpose that truly matters

🌍 Additional Details

Commitment: 3-month volunteer term | 5–10 hours per week minimum (based on position level)

Location: 100% remote

Requirements: Access to a computer, internet, and availability for 1–2 video/phone check-ins weekly

Portfolio: Finalists will be asked to share relevant samples of their work
