Overview
The Peace Economy Project (PEP), a nonprofit organization committed to advancing peace, economic justice, and reallocating resources from military to social spending, is seeking a passionate and proactive Fundraising Volunteer. This volunteer will play a crucial role in supporting our fundraising efforts to ensure we can continue and expand our advocacy work. If you are motivated to make a difference and have a knack for fundraising and community engagement, we want you on our team!
Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing creative fundraising strategies that align with PEP's mission and goals.
- Donor Engagement: Help maintain and build relationships with existing and potential donors through regular communication, updates, and appreciation messages.
- Event Planning: Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics coordination, promotion, and follow-up activities.
- Grant Writing Support: Assist in identifying grant opportunities and support the grant writing process, including research, proposal writing, and submission.
- Campaign Management: Participate in the creation and management of online fundraising campaigns, including content creation and social media promotion.
- Data Management: Help maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in our fundraising database, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for PEP's mission and a desire to support peace and economic justice initiatives.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a variety of audiences.
- Previous experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or related fields is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital fundraising tools.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Time Commitment
This is a flexible, remote volunteer position requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending on current projects and campaigns. Some weekend or evening availability may be needed for events or meetings.
Location
As this is a remote position, volunteers can be based anywhere with reliable internet access. Occasional in-person meetings or events may be held in the Saint Louis area, but attendance is not mandatory.
