The Christine B. Foundation is a Bangor-based service-providing nonprofit, striving to build a community of support for those affected by cancer.
The Cancer Nutrition Assistance program through CBF offers equitable access to grocery packages for patients with cancer, recent survivors, and their families.This program has supported 1300 Mainers across 250 towns thanks to hundreds of volunteers. This impact is equivalent to over 300,000 meals being delivered directly to patients with cancer.
Thanks to 100+ volunteers working in various parts of this effort, CBF remains to keep this service at no cost to recipients.
Grocery Package Assembly:
The CBF is looking for volunteers to assemble customizedgrocery packages and support drivers as they arrive for distribution. Eachpackage isbuiltto the unique preferences of the patient with cancer/their family.Grocery package(s) areassembled at the Bangor site.
Volunteer Role:
CBF is looking for volunteers who can assemble custom grocery packages, maintain office cleanliness, log information, and greet/aid volunteer drivers. This role is volunteer-facing (no direct interaction to patients) and requires reliable transportation.
All food products will be stored at the Bangor site, with a breakdown of each package item on custom slips.
CBF seeks volunteerswho can designate a day of the week/time of day to this role.
Days of the week and time of day can vary based on availability. Currently,available assembly times are:
Tuesday - 6:30-8a
Wednesday - 3-5p
Thursday - 6:30-8aor 3-5p
