Join a Compassionate Team of Volunteers Providing Comfort and Care to Terminally Ill Patients. Make a Difference Behind the Scenes as an Administrative or Event Support Volunteer!
Southern Maine Agency on Aging is teaming up with Hospice of Southern Maine to recruit Volunteers! Hospice of Southern Maine believes in doing everything we can to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. Striving to help each patient reach their goals at end of life, we work together to create an individualized plan of care with each of our patients. That includes support from family caregivers, loved ones, and our interdisciplinary team of clinicians...and volunteers! Join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their loved ones.
As anAdministrative or Event Support Volunteer, you will provide additional assistance to various departments within Hospice of Southern Maine, helping with daily clerical and office duties and/or planning for and running events. Your involvement will build critical capacity, and empower the agency to provide terminally ill patients with the care and comfort they deserve.
Volunteer Duties:
Administrative Volunteers provide non-direct care on a sporadic basis either on-site or at an off-site event. Volunteer service may include the following:
-Stuffing envelopes
-Packet building
-Filing
-Assisting with special events
Several times a year, Hospice of Southern Maine hosts special events and is always grateful for an extra hand. Such community events include Twilight in the Park and Hike for Hospice. For these events, welcome groups as well as minors are welcome to volunteer.
Training & Requirements:
-Application & 2 personal references
-Successful completion of criminal background check.
-Complete drug screen.
-Maine ID, Drivers License, or passport.
-Have no significant personal loss within previous year.
Commitment & Schedule:
Flexible opportunities available! Volunteer one day, for one event, or weekly to help with regular office needs!
