25-26 Girls on the Run Bay Area Community Engagement VISTA

Girls on the Run of the Bay Area (GOTRBA) is a nonprofit that inspires girls in grades 3¿8 to be joyful, healthy, and confident through a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Each year, we serve over 2,000 girls across five Bay Area counties through after-school programs that build critical life skills like confidence, teamwork, and goal-setting¿all culminating in a celebratory 5K.

Equity and access are central to our mission. We provide sliding-scale fees, offer programs in under-resourced communities, and aim to ensure every girl has the opportunity to participate regardless of financial or geographic barriers.

The Community Engagement & Recruitment VISTA will play a key role in expanding GOTRBA¿s reach by developing outreach materials, supporting recruitment campaigns, and building connections with schools, parks, and community-based organizations. This is a highly collaborative and creative role that blends communications, research, relationship-building, and strategy.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and excited about creating inclusive systems that help more families learn about and access our programs.
