The main purpose of the position is to provide information and education to OHV users at the designated trailhead and to assist with routine maintenance and monitoring of the trail system and trailhead facilities.

The basic functions of the OHV host can be summed up as follows:

  • Public contact

This site is located in a hurricane prone area, consequently, the host may be required to vacate the site as instructed by the District Ranger, Forest Supervisor, or other authorized officials in the event of a hurricane, lapse in government funding, or other unforeseen event.

Major Duties:

  • Greet visitors (public contact). Provide riders with information and education concerning responsible OHV use on public lands.
