About this Opportunity

Volunteer at the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex! The complex consists of several refuges spanning San Francisco Bay and Santa Cruz.

Volunteers work in all aspects of Refuge operations, including: interpretation, environmental education, maintenance, resource management, and the Native Plant Nursery. Also, volunteers are encouraged to find their own ways to use and improve their specialized skills that, at first glance, may not fit one of the above categories.

This is a particularly exciting time for the Complex because of the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project: over 15,000 acres of salt ponds will be converted back to tidal marsh in the decades to come. More information can be found at desfbay.fws.gov or call our Volunteer Coordinator, Tia Glagolev, at (510) 792-0222 x41.
